Spotting Guide and Stain Classification
Listed below are several excellent stain removal information pages. You can try most of these yourself, but many require special over-the-counter cleaning agents for best success.
You always have the option of calling a professional, BUT remember the following:
 | Blot up as much of the spilled material as possible with clean white cotton towels. |
| Act quickly, most water based stains will start to oxidize soon, making removal tougher. |
| After you get most of the spill absorbed as possible, put a damp towel over the area and give us a call right away, the dampness of the towel will help reduce oxidation off the fibers. |
As a rule of thumb, an oil based spot will require a solvent based spotter and water based spots will require a water based spotter.
